Reminder:  Jewellery, Foul Language and Ground Marshalls

All match officials are reminded of the following...

1.    A ground marshal must be present at every BASL fixture and must be present before the fixture commences.

The marshal must identify themself to you prior to the match, escort you from the field at half time, escort you to the field at the start of the second half and from the field at the end of the match.

The ground marshal also has the role of organising the correction of any problems (i.e. nets not attached properly, filling pot holes, ensuring that teams are ready to kick off at the scheduled kick off time etc.).

2.    Jewellery is prohibited!

Each team must be informed that the wearing (and covering) of jewellery is prohibited (during your pre - match instructions) and that any player found to be wearing jewellery during the game will be cautioned.

During the match if a player is found to be wearing jewellery they must be cautioned when the ball is next out of play and ordered to leave the field in order to remove the item(s). The player is only allowed to re - enter the field of play after you
(i.e. the referee) have given them permission.

3.    The use of foul language is prohibited!

Either of the following courses of action must be taken when a player uses foul language...

       •   The infringing player should be given a stern "public warning" (i.e. talking to) or a caution!
[depending on the severity of their language]

       •   A player that has been given a "public warning" must be cautioned if they re - offend.

Offensive, insulting or abusive language/gestures are the most severe case of unsavoury conduct and must be dealt with by the issuing of a red card.
